Job Description:

  1. Become a Middle school and High School IBDP Music Teacher and be present at Jiaxing Private School from 08:30 to 17:00
  2. As a Middle school and High School IBDP Music Teacher, the working week will be Monday to Friday, with the Weekends off
  3. Maximum class size of 24 IB PYP Music students
  4. The Middle school and High School IBDP Music Teacher will be teaching for approximately 20-22 classes or 24 classes as maximum.
  5. The teacher will be required to plan all their classes in the office and will approximately spend 10-15 office hours doing this.
  6. Using electronic media and courseware to teach Music efficiently and effectively
  7. Evaluating the young learners’ progress and provide ongoing guidance for improvement
  8. Participate in social activities with students organized by the Music Department
  9. Maintain regular office hours


Responsibilities include:

  1. Assist with lower grade levels as needed
  2. Music Curriculum Design and Merging
  3. Lead the development of the International Division Music Department
  4. Curriculum Design and Merging
  5. Oversee the purchasing of music supplies and equipment
  6. Inspect and ensure proper maintenance of music supplies and equipment.
  7. Develop relationships between our school and the larger music community.
  8. Create musical performance opportunities for students of all grade levels throughout the year.
  9. Attend meetings with the principal, other team leaders, team members, parents, and students. Follow up with communication
  10. Deal with curricular matters at the team and high school level.
  11. Focus on creating a “team” feeling amongst the students, and a positive team attitude for viewing academic, social and behaviour issues.
  12. Communicate with the counsellor about the needs of the team and specific students
  13. Organize musical field trips or activities.
  14. Communicate team concerns to parents and/or administration
  15. Act as liaison between the team and the Principal.
  16. Monitor team expenditures throughout the school year
  17. Provide coverage for absent teachers as directed by the high school principal
  18. Demonstrate presence in hallways


Qualifications required:

  1. Bachelor’s in Music as a minimum, Master’s preferred
  2. 2 years of Music teaching experience
  3. Knowledge of the IBDP Music Teaching curriculum
