Who's Tianjin for?

As an English teacher living in China, you may be looking for a cultural Chinese experience or you may be looking for the fast-paced, active lifestyle China has to offer, either way, Tianjin has them both. With Beijing being only a short 30-40 minute bullet train ride away, Tianjin is a great place to experience Great Wall adventures and lively weekend getaways without having to live that fast-paced, busy life every single day. However, it isn’t the proximity of Beijing to Tianjin that makes it a good choice. You can enjoy exploring both the old and new Tianjin. Step back in time at Beitang Ancient town, look at the temples and beautiful gardens and end the day with dinner amidst the ancient architecture. Throughout Tianjin’s history, foreign countries have made and left a mark on this city, and it becomes very evident when you a stroll through the many European concession areas. From the British buildings along the Five Great Avenues, the Italian Style Town in the Italian Concession area, an 18th century French Catholic church in the French Concession, to the Belgian Concession, its evident Tianjin has a lot of history and a lot of architectural design to offer. If you like Chinese culture with an exotic twist of European influences, Tianjin is for you.
